
New York-based PR agency, MVPR, is looking for an experienced candidate to join its public relations division. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive network of relationships with the world’s leading long-term and short-term market editors, feature writers, editorial stylists and will have director-level experience managing multiple accounts and junior members of the team. The candidate should have a minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in the fashion industry, proven relationships with publishers and a strong interest in team/client management. Agency experience is required.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the public relations division
- Lead the development and implementation of creative and thoughtful public relations strategies across all accounts in the division
- Oversee ongoing account action items and client reports without management assistance
- Develop creative and strategic media campaigns around new product launches/initiatives and oversee account team members to ensure high volume of impactful placements across key print, digital and broadcast media outlets (as applicable) )
- Take responsibility and accountability for all team members, clearly defining roles and providing guidance and tools to facilitate goal achievement and client success
- Oversee and manage account performance from top to bottom, ensuring quality of work, deadlines and media coverage goals are met
- Serve as primary client contact and team leader; resolve customer issues thoughtfully and effectively
- Write and be the final word on press releases, pitches, positioning statements, talking points, key messages for brand spokespersons, backgrounders and more
- Consistently secure brand features, executive profiles and trending stories for customers
- Maintain and continually develop the network of media relations and potential partners for collaborations and proactively use it to help build clients into leaders in the respective categories
- Lead in-person meetings and calls with the client
- Lead a new business process including research, proposal and pitch preparation without any direction from management
- Constantly innovate proposals by bringing new ideas to the table
- Manage the team of AMs, ACs and interns according to assignments
Skills and experience required:
- The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 6-8 years of PR agency experience across a diverse portfolio of beauty, fashion, health+wellness and food+beverage brands and have strong contacts
- Candidates should have experience managing a team and client accounts without management assistance
- Candidates must have a strong desire to accelerate quickly in a fast-paced boutique agency with amazing clients
- 6 to 8 years of experience in the field of fashion + accessories public relations with experience in the management of several client accounts; agency experience is required
- Team leadership skills are a must
- Experience building strategies through execution with a track record of proven results; experience in developing goals for the team and clients
- Creative thinker and extremely detail oriented
- Hardworking and proactive candidate who is enthusiastic and works well within a team
- Excellent command of digital platforms and social media
- Must be based in NY
